Welcome to Presentation Art department website. This year our department we will focus our thinking on current events, the environment, artists and art trends throughout history, contemporary artists and students personal interests. we will enter competitions,participate in workshops and visit galleries to broaden our learning experience outside the classroom. Using your initiative is an important part of the Art experience so motivate yourself. Culture night in September is an exciting time to visit Art events in the city. We will promote a holistic approach to art education. This is an exciting time with the launch of the new junior certificate for our incoming first years and our visual sketch pad page. We will encourage you to employ visual and critical thinking strategies, and enthusiasm for the art process and continue to strive for excellence in a christian environment.

Get creative. Get out your sketch book or camera and make a visual record of your world. Observation is key so use primary sources. Experiment try a wide variety of media, like Matisse your mistake could be the start of a new Art movement. This is the start of your career as an artist. Visit the local gallery for inspiration.

Many Art courses require a portfolio. A portfolio is a body of work exploring themes, thoughts and ideas. This can be developed in school and worked on during your holidays. Colaiste Stiofan Naofa also runs a portfolio preparation course and assists you in your 3rd level application process.
